AECIR - Spanish Association of the International Raceboard Class

Raceboard Masters World Championships

Published: February 24, 2023

The Raceboard class is held on Lake Garda. A place so well known for sailing that it needs no introduction. Univela Campione del Garda is our host, and from the neighboring cliffs we have one of the most spectacular backdrops one can imagine.

What else do we need? The morning wind is guaranteed, and today's races are being held in winds of up to 15 knots. The competitors are also here in good spirits. 41 competitors from 12 countries and 3 continents have traveled to Italy.

As for the racing, Patrik Pollak continues as usual. The reigning World Champion confirmed that his skill is top notch by winning all four races today.

This is what Patrik had to say after the morning session:

The racing went well. When we went out for the first race there was little wind and then it picked up as expected before dropping down for the third race. I took my ultralight wind sail, but had my strong wind sail ready on the grass just in case. The races were close to shore and there would have been time to change.

I won every race, but it was hard work in each and every race. Radim and Fernando were always pushing. This is my favorite class. I've tried foiling, but there's nothing like raceboarding.

Tomorrow we plan to have morning and long distance races. Results and photos are available on the event website.
